Posted: May 18 2005Big Yard Sale at LVC to Reduce Waste, Raise Funds For the first time, Lebanon Valley College will hold a yard sale on campus to recycle items the students left behind and american funds insurance series to raise money for american funds insurance series environmental causes. "The Big Yard Sale" will be on Saturday, May 21 from american funds insurance series 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the West Dining Hall of the Mund College Center. The public is invited. An LVC group, Student Action for Earth (S.A.F.E.) and the Governor Pinchot chapter of the Sierra Club of Harrisburg will host "The Big Yard Sale." The groups invited students to donate unwanted items rather than to throw them out when they left LVC at the end of the semester. Items for sale include: refrigerators, clothing, toys, unopened food, furniture, shoes, area rugs, electronics, books, cleaning products, and more. "We view this as a community service project because we are reducing the amount of landfill material and splitting the proceeds with a well-known and respected environmental organization," said Ryan Kitko '05 of Annville, co-president of S.A.F.E. |
