Walker earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX, in 1970. He has taken postgraduate courses through Louisiana State University and attended various executive management training courses. Mr. Walker is a Registered Professional Engineer in todays native americans Texas.
